The public corporation “Lakokraska” Lida has been retaining the status of the leading organization in the Republic, which produces lacquers and paints for different branches of industry for four decades.
The range of products includes a variety of lacquers and paints necessary in industry: for metal protection from corrosion and atmospheric influence in different climatic zones, for ships, planes, carriages, bridges, ferroconcrete items and construction materials painting on front, concrete, wood, for complex covering of the objects exploited in hostile environments for a period of time not less than 10 years. Production facilities allow to produce up to 122 tones of products a year. Enhancement of organization’s efficiency is achieved due to its reconstruction, management optimization and industrial and economic activity. This very approach allows to simplify many production chains, to regulate raw materials flows, to control products quality as much as possible, to concentrate finances on strategic trends, to increase incomes. The quality of the produced goods satisfies the best international standards and according to some indicators exceeds them, due to this fact, the range of consumers in the countries of the CIS and foreign countries widens. Prestigious international awards of the organization for achievements in production dynamics, in the sphere of range of goods and sales, efficiency and ecology manifest the European level of the products. The factory produces about 30 sorts of lacquers on the basis of condensation resins, over 59 sorts and colors of enamels and coats on the basis of polymerization resins, polyvinyl acetate dispersion, water-dispersion paints. There are sewage disposal plants with physicochemical and biological waste treatment on the territory of the factory. The modern production technologies, qualified staff, innovative technologies allowed to expand the range of the goods produced and to increase the production volumes of lacquers and paints. The history of the factory, which amounts to four decades, can be characterized as a period of its growth and technical transformations: improvement and intensification of technical processes, improvement of production quality, raising of the rate of lacquers and paints production.
The department of conservancy and industrial sanitation is one of the organization’s departments of the public corporation “Lakokraska” Lida. It consists of air and sewage control and test laboratories, a group of ecologists. The department complies with the Accreditation system criteria of the Republic of Belarus and is accredited for meeting the requirements of the standard STB ISO/MEK 17025. The laboratory fulfills the functions of sewage control using 24 characteristics and air control using 56 characteristics. The main controllable substances in the air are xylene, toluol, acetone, white-spirit, formaldehyde, phthalic anhydride, maleic anhydride and so on; in the sewage- oil products, sulphates, chlorides, phosphate, nickel, copper and so on. The ecologic laboratories are supplied with special modern equipment; that gives the possibility of getting test results in time and for sure and also of processing them. The regular monitoring procedure and the procedure of key features measurement of the operations that can greatly influence the environment are implemented and supported in the operational status in the public corporation “Lakokraska” Lida. In accordance with the Decree of the Ministry of natural resources and environment in the Republic of Belarus dated 17.03.2004 the manufacturing and ecologic inspection is created in the organization. The environment management system (EMS) has been implemented and has been functioning starting with the year 2003 for adequacy of both national and international ISO standards of the series 14001. The certified ecologic system improvement is being confirmed now in the organization in accordance with the requirements of a new standards version ISO 14001:2004 (2005). The changes were made in the organization’s ecologic policy in the year 2006. The ecologic policy corresponds to the character, scale and influence on the environment of the public corporation “Lakokraska” Lida, includes the liability on constant improvement of the state of the environment and on prevention of its pollution.
The environment management system implementation allowed to increase competitiveness and authority of the organization and also to provide a high level of professional and ecologic perception of all employees for their motivation aimed at understanding and fulfilling of the ecologic policy.
A scientific and technical center was created in the organization in September, 2003 (Later it was given a new name of The Scientific and Technical Department). On the basis of this department original formulae are elaborated, the used formulae are being improving; new types of raw materials are tested for usage and substitution in the formulae. A formula of materials for roofing slate painting is elaborated at present time in the research and development department of “Lakokraska” Lida, a formula of protective zinc-containing coating “Zinco Lid” for metal fabrics and metal constructions protection is worked out. An output of the epoxy enamel EP-1236 and the coat EP-045 is mastered and these products are successfully being sold. These products protect metal constructions and metal articles of carriages running gear from corrosion. Lasting properties are over 10 years. Production of the paint “Stollreflex D-1163” of the European level is also mastered, it is produced on the basis of the Austrian license for highway striping. It is rewarded with a gold medal at the international exhibition-trade fair “Bishkek-2005”. A new line of water-dispersion paints with a common brand-name “Aqua Lid” is being mastered in the organization. The line includes lacquers for working with timber for indoor and outdoor works, parquet acryl- urethane lacquer and a solution for decorating timber. The next stage will be elaboration and production of water-dispersion lacquers for furniture. Taking into consideration customers’ requests, formulae for new enamel colors ML-12K, PF-115, PF-1431 are worked out. Mastering of unique timber acryl- urethane materials production without an odor nuisance and drying during 2-6 hours is an important trend. An Agreement of quick-drying coating “Ð1åõ!” joint production with Hungarian firm “Maduag” was signed in November, 2004. The usage of this product will allow to lessen energy expenses for lacquer and paint cover drying.
All raw materials purchased by the organization and all production go through necessary control in the Department of technical control (DTC). DTC consists of 5 laboratories: raw materials, analytical, end products, expanded testing of end products, stage-to-stage control and end products control of the workshop No 10. The laboratory of raw materials performs an inspection test of raw materials quality for the main production in accordance with the elaborated by the organization documentary procedure “Monitoring and product survey”, “A list of products subject to the inspection test” and normative documents. About 200 types of raw materials and semi-finished products are subject to the inspection test. An analysis of every raw materials batch, every liquid raw materials tank-wagon is performed, and in case of supplies in barrels and supplies from inconstable suppliers, the analysis is performed from every container in order to avoid of having raw materials of bad quality in production. When changing a raw materials supplier, sample testing is performed first of all (an inspection test and technological test in the Science and technical center), and then the decision about usage of these raw materials in production is taken.
Suppliers’ geography is vast: Russia, Ukraine, Lithuania, Latvia, Germany, The Czech Republic, Turkey, Poland, China, Holland, Sweden, Switzerland, Belgium and so on. The end products laboratory and the Department of technical control in the workshop No 10 perform acceptance tests of the end products produced by public corporation’s “Lakokraska” Lida workshops. The laboratory of expanded testing performs periodic, model, qualification, certification tests of the end products and also test sampling of the self-controlled production. On the basis of the Department of technical control a testing center is created, that was accredited by the National body on accreditation of the Republic of Belarus for technical competence in accordance with the standard STB ISO/MEK 17025. The main goal of the employees of the testing center is providing of completeness, accuracy, trustworthiness, objectiveness and exactness of the tests of the public corporation’s “Lakokraska” Lida production as well as customers’ samples. Therefore, the main working principle of the employees of the DTC and Testing center is the motto: “look before you leap”.

Organization’s production is sold in the domestic market as well as in the foreign market. The exports of the production to the countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States (Ukraine, Moldova, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan) and to the foreign countries (Austria, Bulgaria, Hungary, Germany, Poland, Finland, the Baltic countries) amount to about 62% of the total production volume. The main market is the Russian Federation. HISTORY. The building of Lida lacquers and paints factory was started in the year of 1963, two years later it put out its first production. The new workshops on production of lacquers, enamels, phthalic anhydride, polyvinylacetate dispersion on the basis of the complex foreign equipment exported from Germany, Hungary and Poland were opened at the beginning of the 1970-es. Today the main technological workshops produce the goods in the factory: ¹ 2 – produces phthalic anhydride; ¹ 5 – produces lacquers on polycondensation resins; ¹ 1 – produces polyvinylacetate dispersion, water-dispersion materials; ¹ 2 – produces lacquers and enamels on polymerization resins, enamels on condensation resins. Support workshops also provide the production (¹ 1, 3, 4, 7, 8, 11, 15, 16). The organization has been functioning as the public corporation since the year of 1994.
